Eastern Railway Recruitment 2022 for Act Apprentice Posts: Applications are invited from Indian nationals who wish to train as Act Apprentices in Eastern Railway’s Workshops and Divisions under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, as amended. The application process must be completed online and no other method of application submission is permitted.

Eastern Railway Recruitment Age Limit:

As of the cut-off date for receiving applications, candidates must be at least 15 years old and not older than 24 years old. Only the date of birth that appears on a birth certificate issued by a government recognized authority or the date on the matriculation certificate will be considered for this purpose. There will be no other forms of documentation accepted, such as horoscopes, affidavits, birth extracts from a Municipal Corporation, service records, etc.
In the case of SC/ST candidates, there is a relaxation of 05 years in the upper age limit, in the case of OBC-NCL candidates, there is a relaxation of 3 years, and in the case of Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), the relaxation is 10 years.

Eastern Railway Recruitment Educational Qualification:

(i) Candidates must have passed their 10th class examination or its equivalent (under the 10+2 examination system) with a minimum 50% mark in aggregate from a recognized board, as well as possess the National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT/SCVT for the notified trade.

(ii)However, for the following trades, an 8th grade pass from a recognized school and a National Trade Certificate issued by the NCVT or SCVT are the minimum educational requirements:

1. Welder (Gas and Electric)

2. Sheet Metal Worker

3. Lineman

4. Wireman

5. Carpenter

6. Painter (General)

(iii) In accordance with the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 and Para 4 of Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, candidates must bring a medical clearance at the time of document verification.

Eastern Railway Recruitment Application Fees:

Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable fee of 100 through the ONLINE MODE. SC/ST/PwBD/women candidates are not required to pay a fee.
When filling up the online Application Form, fees should be paid online via the ‘Payment Gateway’. Payment can be made by debit card, credit card, or internet banking. Candidate will be responsible for any transaction fees associated with online payment.
The Administration will under no circumstances accept a request for a refund of a fee once it has been remitted by the candidate.

Eastern Railway Recruitment Selection Process:

All eligible candidates who apply against the notification will be selected on the basis of merit. Candidate data/details entered in the online form will be used to prepare the merit list.
Matriculation and ITI average marks will be used to select candidates for Document Verification.
A separate merit list will be drawn for eligible candidates for trades requiring class 10th pass as a minimum qualification. The average marks received by the candidates in the matriculation examination (with a minimum of 50% (aggregate) marks) and ITI examination will be given equal weightage.
A merit list will be prepared for all eligible candidates, whose minimum qualification is a class 8th pass, including those who have matriculation and choose to work in these trades. The average marks obtained in the 8th standard examination as well as the ITI examination would be given equal weightage.
In case of a tie between two candidates with the same marks, the candidate with the older age will be preferred. In the case that the candidates’ dates of birth are also the same, the candidate who passed the concerned examination earlier will be taken into consideration.

Candidates are required to go to the Notice Board section of the official website of RRC/ER Kolkata (www.rrcer.com-kolkata) and Click on the ‘Apply Online’ link.
Read the instructions carefully and fill up all the relevant fields. The details provided by the candidate must match exactly with the details available on his/her matriculation certificate.
Candidates seeking reservation against quota must fill the relevant columns regarding their caste/community.
Candidates must provide their active mobile numbers and valid e-mail IDs which will be required for further communication throughout the entire process of selection.
Candidates are required to upload scan copies of all relevant certificates in pdf format with the specified file size as indicated in the application form.
Candidates are required to upload their good quality colour photograph, not more than 3 months old, in JPG/JPEG format and within the specified file size in the relevant section provided in the application form.
Candidates are required to upload their full signature in JPG/JPEG format and within the specified file size in the relevant section provided in the application form.
Application fee is to be paid through the Payment Gateway that is provided in the application form.
After submission of the complete application, candidates are advised to take a print out copy of the Application form for future reference.
